Equipping Disciples for Jesus Christ

Land Purchase Campaign 2011

Vision for Our Rt. 31 Land
“God's Future Forty”
The land is our fundamental building block allowing Clinton United Methodist Church to grow today and tomorrow.

We see a campus – a beacon of light and the hope of Christ to the community – on a hill featuring a multi-purpose worship center that is large and flexible, able to host concerts, plays, conferences and other community events.

It is a mission station, a place for hosting missions work and bringing local churches together to share the love of Christ with the community.

The ministry campus is also home to indoor and outdoor activity space, walking trails, ball fields, an amphitheater, and a large youth center to sustain a growing youth ministry. It provides a suitable place for spiritual exploration, Christian life development and education, room for pastoral counseling, reflection, and senior gatherings.

It’s a facility that is kind to our environment and efficient to operate, reflecting and respecting God’s gift of nature to us.

GOD'S FUTURE FORTY Message Series "FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS"
September 25-October 23, 2011

September 25 "How God Guides" Jeremiah 32:6-9, 15-17 (see also Exodus 13:17-14:31)
God's ways may seem strange, especially the things he asks us to do.  May times his guidance comes when we are at the moment of need because God expects us to trust him.  God gave Moses and the children of Israel guidance int he wilderness, and God gave Jeremiah guidance in buying a piece of property he seeminly had no use for.  It was all a matter of hope in the goodness of God and folling his plan.  We experience God's guidance in different ways but we all have the same assurance that God does guide us.

October 2 "When to Take a Risk Matthew 25:14-30 (parable of the talents)
God calls us to take a risk in participating in what he's doing in the world rather than merely observing.  We are best off taking a risk doing something than doing nothing.  We are to maintain a "kingdom" orientation, not a self orientation.

October 9 "The Grace of Giving" 2 Corinthians 8:1-9, 12-14
Grace leads to sacrificial giving, to be like the wise man who plants shade trees that he will never sit under.

October 16-"The Vision and the Gift"  1 Chronicles 29
Sacrifice begins with a vision and a task and then leads to a response.  Sacrifice will ultimately lead in praise to God.

October 23-"Crossing Over" Joshua 3
A commitment to cross over into the promised land requires certainty of God's direction, personal consecration, and a dependency on God's intervention.
